Tire Park
Outside our window is a children's playground that people refer to as "Tire Park." For months, there has been talk about taking it down to make a wide walkway that continues down to Battery Park. I guess they think it will look nicer. On Sunday, we decided to take Lila there. I used to meet Eileen & Meli here before we became a family of 3 and always imagined when I would bring my baby to play there. As we passed by the community garden adjacent to the park, neighbors were still tending to their plots even though they knew it would also be torn down. Yesterday morning, I woke up and saw that dividers had been put up and workers were removing the sand and parts of the basketball court. I'm glad we were able to go as a family one last time.
