Lila is now... Height: 28 inches, 67% (up from 26.3 inches at 6 mo) Weight: 21 lb, 3 oz, 87% (up from 19 lb at 6 mo) Head Cir: 43.3 cm, 31% (up from 41.8 cm at 6 mo)
This is the first time Lila has NOT been in the 90+ percentile, but the pediatrician said that since she's more active now, she'll be losing some of her chub. I can't even think of her without her "muscles"!
So many new milestones...Lila can now...
Sit herself up from laying down position.
Say Umma and Appah. In the beginning, she started with Ummamamama or Ummum mum mum. But lately, she keeps saying Appah pah pah pah. A couple of weeks ago, she woke up at night so I brought her to bed with us since she was teething, and while we were quiet, trying to sleep, I hear...Appah pah pah in the sweetest, most quiet voice. It's funny that she knew to be quiet at night, but she was still saying Appah to herself. I was getting over laryngitis in this audio clip so I literally sound like a horse.
Teeth! Lila has 6 teeth and 2 more that want to cut through sometime soon (I think!)
Pull herself up to standing position
Crawl! I was sooo excited the first time she crawled on her own. Sometimes it looks like she's got a bad leg or is just really lazy Other times, she crawls on all fours. The pediatrician says babies just do whatever gets them somewhere fastest. Lila's Dad always gets such a kick out of watching her crawl like this.
Lila can wave when we say "HIIII" and "BYEEE."
I can tell that she really wants to walk too. She loves it when we hold her hands and she gets to walk.
I'm excited because everyday is SO fun and new with her, but I'm sad that time passes by so quickly :(
Lila's grandpa dislikes it when she has bows in her hair (go figure) so I decided to make some new hairpins. She's wearing one in the Wagner Park post below.
The ribbon is from Michael's and the alligator pins are from Just Beauty. I used plain non-toxic craft glue for the adhesive. I glued on a small piece of felt on the inside to give it a non-slip texture. Finished pins
We went to Memorial Sloan Kettering today for the results of my CT scan. Everything came back clear except for some nonspecific cells on my liver. The doctor was not concerned and made it clear that it could be from any number of things so I'm very relieved. He recommended that I get another scan in 6 months just to make sure those cells didn't get bigger. I'm not looking forward to that high contrast solution and IV again but better to be sure that everything is okay. There's nothing like peace of mind.
Thank you to all the Xanga mommies who asked how I was doing and for the well wishes
